Malaysia, May 17 2026 – Universitas
Mahasaraswati Denpasar (Unmas Denpasar) through its Faculty of Dentistry (FKG)
is growing its partnerships by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). The signing happened at the Conference Room of
the School of Dental Sciences (PPSG) USM Health Campus.
The
MoU is a step in strengthening academic ties between Unmas Denpasar and USM
especially in dental sciences and health education. This move is part of Unmas
Denpasars efforts to expand its presence and make a bigger impact.
The
MoU was signed by Dr. Drg. Hervina, M.Biomed. Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry
at Unmas Denpasar and Dr. Drg. Kadek Lusi Ernawati, Vice Dean 1. USM was
represented by Professor Dr. Norhayati Luddin, Dean of the School of Dental
Sciences (PPSG). Associate Professor Dr. Nik Rozainah Nik Abdul Ghani, Deputy
Dean.
Dr.
Drg. Hervina, M.Biomed. said this partnership opens doors for research
collaborations. They plan to have student exchange programs, joint research and
shared publications.
"This
partnership lets us share knowledge and experience to improve education and
research. It also broadens our faculty members and students global perspectives
" said Hervina.
She
added that this MoU is a foundation for specific joint initiatives, which will
be detailed in a follow-up Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).
Unmas
Denpasar is committed to growing its network and achieving academic and
research excellence through global partnerships. This aligns with its role as a
pioneer in education focused on sustainability and community well-being.
Professor
Dr. Norhayati Luddin appreciated Unmas Denpasar for this partnership. She
believes it will benefit both institutions in development, research and
capacity building.
"This
cooperation promotes knowledge sharing, student exchanges and expertise-based
collaboration. We hope it will lead to joint efforts between Unmas Denpasar and
USM supporting academic excellence and regional community well-being "
Norhayati said.
The
ceremony also had Ts. Dr. Norhayati Yusop, Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation
and Industry–Community Engagement) of PPSG USM. Dr. Umi Mardhiyyah Mat Ali,
Event Coordinator for the MoU, between Unmas Denpasar and USM.
